THE KNOWLEDGE HUB AT THE GESS DUBAI 2017

For the fourth consecutive year, The Knowledge Hub proudly participated in the 10th edition of GESS Dubai or Global Educational Supplies and Solutions which ended on a high note on 16th March 2017.

The Knowledge Hub took part in the prestigious GESS Dubai 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre from March 14 to 16. For this three-day event of celebrating educational excellence, we showcased the latest 21st century learning solutions that will significantly change the future of educational technology, from classroom management solutions and learning management systems to high-tech robotics and a wide array of state-of-the-art ICT tools. We were also honored to be joined by the principals of our newest learning resources namely, Mr. Daniel Donohue of BrainPOP, Mr. Chris Stephen of Readable English and Mr. Quin Chandler of Just2easy.

More than 10,000 professionals from the academe side as well as business leaders from companies reaching out to an ever expanding education technology market attended the exhibition.

Over 550 companies from around the globe joined GESS Dubai 2017 and presented the latest solutions and innovations in the education industry.The event also featured 3 days of free-to-attend conferences and hands-on workshops from educational leaders and specialists who shared their expertise and insights on the different aspects of the profession, the pedagogy and the latest advancements in eLearning.

“It was indeed a privilege for us to be a part of GESS Dubai 2017 which is considered the Middle East’s largest education conference and exhibition. Another highlight of the occasion was the GESS Education Awards 2017 where The Knowledge Hub emerged as the winner for SEN Resource / Equipment Supplier of the Year.

THE FIRST WORLD EDUCATIONAL ROBOT (WER)-DUBAI TOURNAMENT SUCCESSFULLY HELD

The World Educational Robot Contest (WER) 2016,the very first national tournament of WER in Dubai, was successfully held at the Sharjah American International School-Dubai last Saturday, April 16th.

Numerous students from different schools across the UAE participated in the WER 2016, which was organized by The Knowledge Hub and sponsored by Abilix Educational Robot. WER is an international theme-based robotics competition which has more than 300,000 participants from 20 countries yearly.  It aims to enhance the creativity and hands-on ability of students in the field of robotics by completing specific robot tasks and solving practical challenges relating to the theme of the competition. This year, the competition’s theme was “Move the Earth”which required participants to explore and apply the principles of simple machines when designing and operating their robots.

Gulf International Private Academy which bagged the First Place will be competing in the USA for the WER championship this September (?). Sharjah American International School – Dubai got the Second Place and will compete in China this September. The Best School Team, a special award for the team that displayed the best teamwork, sportsmanship and innovativeness, was awarded to Horizon International School.

“We greatly appreciate the support and keen involvement of the schools that participated which made this event a real success.
