  • All machines of the Unimat1 Elementary kit are child friendly. Due to the short stroke of the jigsaw blade, the fingers of a young carpenter cannot be injured. At the same time, professionals are delighted by the accurate and precise cutting of the saw.
  • Included in the kit are the components for a jigsaw, for variations of wood turning machines, for a hand held sander, for a stationary sander and for a handheld drilling machine.
  • The powerful jigsaw can be used with plywood, solid wood, balsa wood, plastics and thin sheets of soft metal. It has a cutting capacity of up to 20mm balsa and 7mm solid wood.
  • No annoying opening and clamping of the jigsaw blade when cutting windows and holes.
  • With a distance between centres of 135mm and a maximum centre height of 50mm, the efficient 12V power machine works smoothly. Students can make first steps in woodworking without any danger.
  • The machines can be applied in school versatilely. In addition we offer comprehensively documented projects like wooden pens, salt and pepper shakers or egg cups. Furthermore lesson plans with theory-exercises those impart knowledge about machines and techniques are available

  • All machines of the Unimat ML Design & Technology kit are child friendly. The ML design makes the machine variants suitable for intensive usage (e.g. in science centres, hands-on museums etc).
  • Included in the kit are the components for a jigsaw, for variations of wood turning machines (incl 3-jaw chuck), for a handheld sander or a stationary sander and for a handheld drilling machine.
  • Due to the short stroke of the jigsaw blade, the fingers of a young carpenter cannot be injured. The precise metal guide with the sanded steel tappet guides the saw blades exactly and therefore allows for a professional and clean cut in various materials. Plywood, solid wood (up to 7mm), balsa (up to 20mm), plastics and soft metal sheets.
  • No annoying opening and clamping of the jigsaw blade when cutting windows and holes. Alternatively, 2 different blade dimensions can be used.

Especially for innovative education in higher classes Unimat CNC is an interesting option. Due to the modular construction an almost infinte number of application possibilities arise. The Unimat CNC slides of the mill and the lathe are equipped with 2A steppers.

Some of the characteristics are:

  • Cross Slide: travel 50mm (extendable)
  • Longitudinal Slide: travel 145mm (extendable)
  • Accuracy: max. 0.07mm
  • up to 4 CNC axes controllable simultaneously

Particularly noteworthy are the low costs of this system. Instead of purchasing industrial machines (high entry costs and ongoing expenditures, etc.), to which access is often not available to students, with Unimat CNC an entire machine park can be made available at only a fraction. Students can use this machines actively and autonomously.

The machines are controlled via the free software machinekit (fork of LinuxCNC, pre-installed on motion controller TCTCONT4) . This software can also be intalled for free on a common BeagleBone Black for training and simulation purposes.

What has been designed in a CAD application can be converted into machine code in a CAM application.

Machinekit offers a graphical interface as well as insight into and editing options for the G-code. For Fusion360 simple post processors with short manuals are available.
